Internship at Staffordshire University (UK)

From 11 to 22 January 2019, Head of the Department of Normal and Pathological Physiology of the Samarkand State Medical Institute, Assoc. G. U. Samiyeva completed an internship at Staffordshire University (United Kingdom) under the program of the training seminar “Engineering in Emergencies”, which was organized as part of the SPHERA project (Support in Professionalization in Engineering in Healthcare and Related disciplines in Asia).

 Staffordshire University is one of the leading technical universities in the UK, specializing in the application of modern advances in engineering and information technology in urban planning and public health. Currently, the university has more than 15,000 students from all over the world.

 Representatives of the Samarkand branch of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies, the Samarkand Institute of Medical Veterinary Medicine and the Nepal University also took part in the workshop.

 During this training workshop, participants listened to lectures by professors from the University of Staffordshire:

 - Professor Abdel-Hamid Soliman delivered lectures on the themes “Development of smart systems and their use in emergency situations”, “Strengthening and using capabilities”, “Data acquisition systems”, “Use and management of systems intended for use in emergency situations”, and also conducted a case study on the theme “Practical contribution of engineering in emergency situations”;

 - Professor Masum Billah gave lectures on the topics “Modern practice of teaching and learning” and “Mobile heat and power systems for emergency situations”;

 -PhD Ganim al-Hasan gave a lecture on “The Approach to Curriculum Development”.

 Upon completion of the training, participants were issued certificates of international standard by the leadership of Staffordshire University.

 During the visit, prospects for the development of cooperation between Staffordshire University and Samarkand State Medical Institute were also discussed.

 The conference participants were also given the opportunity to see the sights and cultural values ​​of England, to visit the sights of the cities of Oxford and Birmingham.
